Our Tri-Valley Republicans Club has been going strong for many years now due to past and present member participation. As the years go by, we gain new members and lose some along the way! One of our most important events is our monthly dinner meeting. Inviting new people to join us at our dinner meetings and making them feel welcome will grow our ranks!

Your Board of Directors thanks everyone who continues to renew their memberships and attend our monthly dinner meetings!

We ended 2024 with 17 new members and 79 renewals from 2023, for a total of 96 members.

So far in 2025, we have 8 brand new members and 83 members who renewed from 2024, 8 of which are Golden Eagle Members – for a total of 91 members so far this year! THANK YOU, THANK YOU! We actually have one of the larger Republican memberships in the Bay Area!

The venue at Vic’s is a blessing, as venues are hard to find. We provide great speakers thanks to Phyllis and the food is terrific. Your Board of Directors has worked closely with Vic’s to keep our dinner price as affordable as possible and in line with most other clubs. Keep in mind that you are getting dinner and a speaker!

Some months only 40+ attend our dinners! This has required sending out an SOS for enough reservations to meet the minimum number of attendees and avoid canceling the meeting. We don’t want to lose this venue due to low attendance!

If all of us focus on growing our membership and good attendance at our meetings we will continue to ensure excellent speakers, attract more new members and be able to conduct activities to support more Republicans running for state and local offices! Let’s keep our Club moving onward and upward!

Dear TVR Members,

We know that some of you have expressed concerns about the increases this year for our TVR dinners and membership fees. Like so many organizations, our Tri-Valley Republicans Club has struggled financially since Covid and the rising inflation currently hitting all walks of our lives. After our budget review and research into other clubs, it became apparent that we had to initiate slight increases to these two income sources to offset rising costs for 2024. You may remember that an announcement was made at the December dinner, and also emailed to members prior to the January dinner, regarding price increases for dinners and membership renewals.

Last year, members paid $35 per dinner and non-members paid $40. Our costs were $39.08 per person (not including dessert, coffee, table decorations or speaker fee). In 2023 we lost more than $10 per person for each dinner we held. After the price increase in 2024, in April TVR made $3.50 and in May $1.71 per person including all of the above expenses.

As you can see, inflation is already reducing meal costs: $1.79 in one month. Aside from dinner costs, annual membership fees go toward the cost of good speakers, which can vary from $ 200 to $1,000 and have risen slightly due to gas and fee/expense for each. Our annual membership also covers special events such as member coffees, website maintenance and fees, and rising liability insurance.

If the economy improves and prices go down, we will be reviewing our budget income and expenses to determine if we can possibly reduce our dinner cost back to the prior levels.

We want to assure you that your board of directors work hard to provide you with the best possible venue for our dinner meetings, high quality speakers each month and an informative and interactive club website to provide you with the most complete information on political and other events.
