No, not run away, but run for office! We need to build up our “Farm Team” of conservatives with experience whom we can vote in for County and State Offices. This training ground often starts at Citizen panels, City Councils, School Site Committees, School Boards, Water and Park Districts. If you have a passion for schools , parks, or your local city, start by regularly attending existing meetings of such committees and boards. That prepares you to be up on the front table behind the microphone when YOU get elected! Your volunteering for local governing committees and boards gives us reasons to push your name forward for higher office. So, papa, do run run! (OK, that dates me. Vote Conservative ! My Personal Voter Guides
We have a HUGE ballot with propositions, local races (mayors, city councils, school boards, and special districts), and the state-wide , and national races. It is nearly impossible for the general voter to know in advance who are the conservatives (or lesser of two evils) on the crowded ballot. They appear as a sea of names listing only a a brief title (teacher, incumbent, business person, etc). I offer my private Voter Guide for Alameda County and for Contra Costa County here. Even so, there are many races in which I simply could not find the data in the newspapers, candidate websites, or candidate statements. Two members seated early on Central Committee
On 5/20/2020, two of our TVR club members who won the Primary Election for the Republican Central Committee, 16th Assembly District, were seated early. Normally such action occurs in January following the election. There were two vacancies for 16AD and the Central Committee voted to advance the seating process to May. Congratulations to Chung Bothwell and Harry Briley.
Virus Shelter in Place
We are still abiding by the shelter-in-place, especially given our many older members at risk. LARPD (Livermore Parks and Rec) has likewise yesterday decided to keep closed their facilities through May 1. Our Board has cancelled the April dinner at Beeb’s.
