Here is why: once again, more assault on our rights, freedoms and dignity has been dealt to 90% of residents in the nine bay area counties by BAAD, Bay Area Air District. This agency, leaning on the questionable validity of Climate Change, decided to make a law denying us the right to own gas hot water heaters. BAAD secretly created this “law” in 2013 which will force residents to use only electric hot water tanks. Gina Zari, Political Director of Santa Clara County Association of Realtors, and our May Tri-Valley Republican Club speaker, noted the cost per home to retrofit from gas to electric could be as high as $50,000 to $300,000.
BAAD gives no facts as to how this will work with California’s failing electrical grid. Brown outs, black outs, forest fires, etc. have been the plague of PG&E with very little improvement. Now BAAD thinks we can all just switch to electric and hop on the grid?
And this is just the tip of the BAAD plan of control. As of January 1, 2029, gas furnaces will be prohibited! BAAD obviously gave no thought to the financial situations these laws would create, or they don’t care if worshipping at the shrine of climate change, or they are riding the Socialist train. Regardless of their form of logic, we as homeowners and renters must take action now to protest these unreasonable dictates.
