Muslim Holy Days as Official CA State Holidays
California law makers Matt Haney, Aisha Wahab and seven other co-authors of AB 2017 from the Democrat Party, would like to crowd your school calendar with Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha to California's official state holidays. This bill would allow public schools and community colleges to choose to close if local school boards and unions agree; courts would remain open on these holidays. State employees would also be allowed to use holiday credit or leave time to celebrate Eid. Schools could also hold educational activities about Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, including all students regardless of whether they hold the same beliefs. The State Board of Education may adopt a model curriculum guide to be available for use by public schools for exercises related to Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Districts would be responsible for the cost of any celebrations or activities associated with this bill.
Changing school calendars and staffing not only increases costs but also impacts taxpayers as well. It also raises a key question: Where do we draw the line when adding more religious holidays?

Oppose AB 1967: Minors to Sue Parents

This bill allows minors living in residential facilities to initiate juvenile court proceedings against their parents on their own, without parental knowledge or consent. Social workers would then be required to investigate the parent's home even without any accusation of wrongdoing. It also speeds up court review timelines and makes it easier for young adults up to age 21 to re-enter foster care. While it aims to protect children in genuine abuse situations, it raises serious parental rights concerns by giving children in residential facilities significant legal power to challenge their parents.
This is the California Democrat Party law makers' classic move of the Communist goals number 40 and 41 in destroying American families by governmental interference to embolden minors' rights and diminish parental rights in the name of "protecting children".
